Dear readers: I have been remiss in updating this site, as its 1990s software gradually dies. I'll keep these pages up indefinitely as a 2011-era archive, but in future all news & excitement will be posted at this easily-updated blog.

Big news: gore & bacon!

Douglas & McIntyre will publish my new novel, All-Day Breakfast, in Fall 2014. (This is this site's poignant actual final update!)

In the Fabled East

I'm extremely proud to say that my second novel is now out in paperback in Canada and will land on American shelves shortly. The accompanying page full of author's notes and movin' pictures is up and running. Go on, enjoy yourself for once.

In the Fabled East was a finalist for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best Book in the Canada/Caribbean region, and one of's Best Books of 2010.

In the Fabled East is on the American Booksellers' Association's Indie Next List for August 2011.

That's me at top right under Yann Martel--thank goodness I'm still alive at the end. Heavens!
